Looking for a lil stimulation post-New Year i visited friends at Analogue Books in Edinburgh and caught Untitled 04 THE ART BOOK, this time currated by Anna Wolf. It's a beautifully printed monochromatic volume that fits in a heap of contemporary illustrators, fashion designers and photographers into its 175 pages. Really the best lil' compendium I've seen in a while. When I showed it to Vix the first thing she said is "oh, Anna Wolf, she's a regular customer of ours. And look, here's some work by guest artist Lizzie Stuart." Small frickin' world guys. Well you made a beautiful thing here. And we noticed. And bought it. And appreciate it. Here we have featured one of our favourite contributions to the book, the photography of Cedric Bihr. |

Yo, so we had to post here that we have closed up the IVY bar pop up shop and will be looking for the next little pop opportunity as it arises. We're always keepin our eye open for spaces. But here's a toast to The IVY for being awesome hosts to us. We're gonna miss that Chorizo hot pot and endless coffee pot fellas. Thank you so much. X |

It's been a long time coming but we've finally added Suzy Q & The Owl's beautiful screen prints for sale in her own 'gallery' section on the site. It works just the same as our shop and accepts all major credit cards. The prints are all a standard size of 50 X 70cm so they fit the mainstream retailers frames (you know the ones). Check out the gallery here. |

After seeing some new work at the degree shows this year we couldn't help make micro - runs by some hot new illustrators who caught our eye. So for the next few months we welcome to the oddities family...Tobias Cook & Lizzy Stewart Tobias Cook is a recent graduate of the Edinburgh College of Art, where he studied Illustration and other ways to avoid real life for three years. Fond of things that break in interesting ways, unusual shapes suspended above a shoreline, things that look better upside-down - little weird eccentricities that sweep the mental rug from under your feet. A love of visual narration and the surreal has led to his work being described as looking like something Haruki Murakami would write. His homes over the last decade have included Newcastle, Hull and Kyoto, but his roots are now firmly planted in Edinburgh. Lizzy Stewart has been drawing buildings and bears for the past four years at the Edinburgh college of Art. Her work comes from a love of music and books and an inabilty to do anything else but draw. She wants to match on paper that feeling you get when you hear a wonderful song, that kind of emotional, gut reaction that tells you this song is meant for you to hear; it tells a story that you understand. In the past she has worked with Tiny Showcase, Analogue Books, End of the Road Records and Anorak Magazine. Although she lives in Edinburgh, she is originally from South Devon where she enjoys seaside walks and ineffective bus routes. |
